In this week’s message from our Vile Love series, we explore how faithful “Methodist Mavericks” have always stepped beyond respectability to share God’s inclusive, boundary-breaking love. Drawing on the legacy of Frances Willard — a leader who challenged entrenched systems for the sake of justice—we’re invited to reflect on how the church today can reclaim that bold spirit. Through Jesus’ healing on the sabbath and our own work with Justice in Action, we’re reminded that when institutions become barriers instead of blessings, God calls us to listen deeply, love courageously, and help transform our community so it better reflects Christ’s vision for the world.
