William A. Wyman, Director of Music

Dr. William A. Wyman has served as Director of Music since 1979. He is conductor of the Chancel Choir and is Director of Choral Activities at Nebraska Wesleyan University. He has conducted ensembles throughout the world and has worked with noted church conductors/ musicians Robert Shaw, John Rutter, David Willcocks, Paul Salamunovich and Randall Thompson. Dr. Wyman is a member of the Nebraska Music Educators Hall of Fame, Nebraska Choral Director of the Year and received the City of Lincoln Mayors Award in Arts Leadership. Under his leadership, the Chancel Choir sings a wide variety of sacred music from classic oratorio to gospel, spirituals and vocal jazz. He has collaborated annually with Jackson and Almeda Berkey of the Mannheim Steamroller to present a special Christmas Eve service of music in the Mannheim Steamroller style. The Chancel Choir has done world premiers of the music of Jackson Berkey and sings with the Chiara String Quartet as well as other professional ensembles.
