Stephen Griffith, Minister to the Community

In addition to general pastoral duties, Steve's role as an ordained minister at Saint Paul is to help the congregation become aware of our neighbors and their needs. He helps look for ways to grow in radical hospitality and risk-taking mission. At Saint Paul this includes conversation with Lincoln’s music, arts and theater groups, GLBT organizations at UNL and in the community, and a variety of human service and social justice concerns. Until recently he produced and hosted a weekly faith and culture radio program on local community radio. A new web radio version of the show is in development.

Steve's mission in life is Cultivating Creativity and Courageous Living: asking The Question, seeking understanding and wonder, including everyone, pursuing justice, making beauty, practicing compassion, telling The Story.

He grew up in small town Nebraska, and now is at home in the city, resonating with the rhythms of downtown. He enjoys art, theater and music, and is convinced that we encounter God through the arts.
